Self-Guided Paddles of the Ct River
Thanks to a grant from the Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, the Ct River Museum (CRM) is able to offer a self-guided tour of the Connecticut River is Essex. This is one of the most picturesque areas on the entire river! The CRM has single and tandem kayaks, as well as canoes for rental. All boats are available for 2 hour, 1/2 and full day rentals. The schooner Mary E is gearing up for yet another great fall season of cruises on the Ct River. The hills of the valley are the perfect canvas for the incredible foliage that is Autumn in New England. This is without a doubt, one of the best ways to take a fall foliage excursion in all of New England. The Mary E sets sail daily (except Wednesdays) at 1:30PM and 3:30PM. This is a 1 1/2 hour cruise. If you want a truly romantic evening, join us for a sunset cruise. This is a 2 hour sail, so bring a bottle of wine, and a picnic dinner! Reservations are strongly recommended for all Fall Cruises, and can be made here!

The 2015 Fall Ball fundraiser for the Connecticut River Museum will be hosted by WFSB’s Scot Haney and held on the waterfront grounds of the Museum, Saturday, October 17 at 6:00 pm. The Honorary Chairperson is Geoff Paul.

Water Babies
Willaim Burt has been photographing marine avian species for over 40 years. These elusive creatures include rails, bitterns, ducks, herons and many more. For this exhibit, he focuses on the young of these species. This exhibit features 40 framed images of baby ducks, herons, grebes and stick legged sandpipers. The exhibit runs until October 12th. Dogs on the Dock
Bring your dog to the CRM on October 11th for the 11th Annual Dogs on the Dock! This will be a fun filled afternoon celebrating man’s best friend! Their will many events for your pooch to participate in! Please note all dogs must have a 2015 license as well as a rabies tag to participate. Event details here.
