Fire Log: A Week of MVAs
The fire department responds to five different motor vehicle accidents during a busy week.

Monday, June 14, 2010
- 8:18 AM: Silvermine Woods, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
- 9:01 AM: Wolfpit Road, motor vehicle accident. Two trucks involved in a rear end type accident. FD personnel checked for injuries, and contained and cleaned up a fluid spill.
- 12:45 AM: Nod Hill Road, over heated motor. Report of the smell of some thing burning in the house, upon investigation FD personnel found source to be an overheated motor on an air handler. FD personnel shut off power to unit, ventilated building, and advised occupant to have it serviced.
Tuesday, June 15
- 9:32 AM: Belden Hill Road, motor vehicle accident. Three-car accident, firefighters checked for injuries, none reported, and contained and cleaned up a fluid spill.
- 11:18 AM: Westport Road, motor vehicle accident. Single car vs. utility pole, firefighters checked for injuries, none reported, and contained and cleaned up a fluid spill. CL&P requested to scene due to utility pole involvement.
- 3:02 PM: Westport Road, motor vehicle accident. Two-car accident, firefighters checked for injuries, none reported.
- 6:14 PM: Crowne Pond Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
- 10:52 PM: Topfield Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

- 9:47 AM: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
- 11:45 AM: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
- 3:20 PM: Marvin Ridge Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
- 3:45 PM: Fairfax Avenue, wires down. Upon arrival FD personnel found electrical wires down. Area secured, CL&P notified.
- 4:40 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
Thursday, June 17
- 8:05 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
- 8:46 AM: Drum Hill Road, Tree on wires. Upon arrival FD personnel, observed a tree branch contacting electrical wires and burning. Area secured, CL&P notified.
- 11:32 AM: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
- 2:10 PM: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.

- 4:31 PM: Pine Ridge Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

- 12:17 AM: Danbury Road, good intent. Report of a fire in a building, upon arrival FD personnel investigated no fire or hazards present.
- 8:41 AM: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
- 11:39 AM: East Winds Lane, carbon monoxide incident. Firefighters investigated and metered the building, no readings found.
- 12:36 PM: River Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
- 3:15 PM: Powder Horn Hill Road, carbon monoxide incident. Firefighters investigated and metered the building, no readings found.
- 10:30 PM: Oakledge Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
