Sunday, July 4, 2010

• 10:06 AM: Cheese Spring Road, lock out.  Firefighters assisted a resident who was locked out of her home by forcing entry.
• 3:50 PM: Mail Coach, smoke in the building.  Report of smoke in the building, upon investigation source determined to be a malfunctioning door bell transformer.  Power to unit shut off, resident advised to contact an electrician.
• 4:30 PM: Sherwood Island State Park, Westport, mutual aid.  Wilton Dive Rescue was requested mutual aid to assist Westport FD with a search for a possible drowning victim.  Area search no body, found, and no reported missing persons, search called off after park closed.
• 5:34 PM: Ridgefield Road, wires down.  Upon arrival FD personnel found the electrical service to a house down, and across the road.  Area was checked for hazards, secured, and CL&P notified.
• 6:45 PM: Fullin Lane, wires down.  Upon arrival FD personnel found a tractor trailer truck had knocked down telephone wires to several residences.  FD personnel checked for hazards and secured area.  AT&T notified.
• 7:06 PM: Danbury Road, motor vehicle accident.  Two car accident, FD personnel checked for injuries, none reported.  Firefighter also contained and cleaned up a fluid spill.

Monday, July 5

Tuesday, July 6:

• 1:30 PM: Morand Lane, fire alarm.  Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
• 8:14 PM: Old Kings Highway, small fire in a garage.  Report of a fire in the building, upon arrival FD personnel found the homeowner attempting to extinguish a burning pile of rags.  Firefighters finished extinguishing fire and checked for extension, none found.  Cause of fire determined to be spontaneous combustion of oily rags.
• 9:00 PM: Turtlehead Road, fire alarm.  Accidental activation of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.

Wednesday, July 7

• 4:09 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 10:35 PM: Westport Fire Headquarters, mutual aid.  Wilton FD requested to provide station coverage while Westport was committed to a structure fire.

Thursday, July 8

• 11:14 AM: Silver Springs, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 2:40 PM: Village Walk, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

Friday, July 9

• 12:56 AM: Topfield Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 6:43 AM: Ridgefield Road, outside fire.  Upon arrival Firefighters found a small fire in a planter box.  Fire extinguished, area checked for extension, none found.
• 7:47 AM: Topfield Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 1:06 PM: Wilton Woods Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 6:59 PM: Woodway Lane, fire alarm.  Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.

Saturday, July 10

• 6:22 AM: Kensett Avenue, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 10:33 AM: Pond Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 6:25 PM: Deacons Lane, malfunctioning television.  Report of a strange odor in a house, upon investigation FD personnel determined it was coming from the television.  Power disconnected, occupant advised to have unit replaced or serviced.
• 8:00 PM: Wilton Acres, unauthorized burning.  Reports of the smell of smoke in the area, upon investigation FD personnel determined it was a resident burning in his back yard.  Firefighters advised resident that the State had a burning band due to the weather and had fire extinguished.  Resident advised of process for authorized burning.
• 11:15 PM: Scarlet Oak Drive, odor investigation.  Report of a strange odor in the area, upon investigation source determined to be a musty smell from a pond.
• 11:51 PM: Danbury Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

• 10:51 AM: Belden Hill Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 12:24 AM: Ridgefield Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 4:26 PM: Danbury Road, fire alarm.  Apparent malfunction of the alarm system, no fire or hazards present.
• 6:54 PM: Topfield Road, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
• 11:45 AM: Lovers Lane, medical emergency.  Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
