How to Pick the Perfect Ear of Corn and Other Farmers Market Miracles
The Wilton Farmers Market provides a wealth of food and information.
At a farmers market, you can generally expect to get good food; that's kind of the point. But at the Wilton Farmers Market, you're likely to take away a lot more that you can't quite put a price on.
Take, for instance, the nice folks at the Killam and Bassette Farmstead. Sure, their produce is out of this world, most notably the corn, which they are reknowned for and often sell out of. At $.50 an ear, you can fill your fridge for around five bucks.
But how much would you be willing to pay for expert advice on how to pick the perfect ear of corn? Luckily you don't even have to consider that because that advice comes included along with their wonderful wares (and we videotaped it and included it here just because it was so good).

And if that's just two of the vendors at the market, then you can well imagine how much the others might sate your physical and intellectual appetite.
The Wilton Farmers Market is open on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. through October. Maybe best of all, it's located smack dab in the middle of town, in the cool of the shade behind the Wilton Library.
Now that's a patch that yields a bountiful harvest.
