John Pizzarelli Quartet Brings Great American Songbook to St. Matthew's Wilton

The Arts at St. Matthew's

Acclaimed jazz guitarist John Pizzarelli is known for his over 140 collaborations with artists including Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, and James Taylor. However, ever since he was a boy, he wanted to form his own jazz group. “The music of the Nat King Cole Trio was what set the foundation for what I wanted to be as a musician,” said John Pizzarelli. “The sound and energy of that group is why I do what I do now.” Along with brother Martin, drummer Tony Tedesco, and pianist Larry Fuller, Pizzarelli formed a quartet that evokes the energy and passion of jazz greats, playing hits by Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer and of course, Nat King Cole. During its debut appearance at St. Matthew’s on Sunday February 22 at 4:00 PM, the John Pizzarelli Quartet will play these classics as well as tunes from Pizzarelli’s newest album, Double Exposure. Tickets are $32.50/adults, $65/patron (for preferred seating), $15/students. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit www.artsatstmatthews.org or call 203-762-7400.
