Larceny, Resisting Arrest, On Wilton Police Blotter
Wilton police foiled the attempt of a Bronx woman to withdraw cash from a bank account that wasn't hers.
WILTON, CT — Shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday police responded to a complaint from a resident of Hurlbutt Street in the area near Banks Drive. The resident told police that a stranger who "appeared to be intoxicated" had approached his door requesting to charge his cellphone, as his car had broken down.
Police found the car, a 2014 Porsche Panamera GTS parked on Banks Drive with a tire blown out. The car's owner, Peter T. Davis, 58, of Redding Road in Redding, exited the vehicle when police arrived and told them a tow truck was on its way.
"An odor of alcoholic beverages was emanating from Mr. Davis as he spoke but he claimed he only drank one beer earlier in the day," according to the police report.

Police placed Davis under arrest for DUI after they say he failed a standardized sobriety test.
"Mr. Davis became very agitated and actively resisted arrest by thrashing and pulling away as officers attempted to handcuff him. After multiple attempts warning Mr. Davis that he would be taken to the ground if he did not stop resisting he was eventually forced to the ground where he continued thrashing, pulling away and resisting," according to Mark Canepari, the investigating officer.

Police eventually handcuffed Davis and took him to Wilton Police Headquarters, where he refused breath testing, was fingerprinted, photographed and held on a $500 bond. After inventorying his possessions, police say they found a folded up $100 bill containing a white powdery substance they suspected to be a controlled substance.
Police charged Davis with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and failure to display plates/inserts.
Davis posted his own bond and was released to a friend in the early morning hours, according to police. He was scheduled to appear before Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 19.
Earlier in the day Saturday, Wilton police foiled an attempted an attempt by a New York City woman to make a withdrawal from a bank account that was not hers.
Officers were called to the Peoples United Bank at 31 Danbury Road about a quarter after noon by an employee of the bank. Police discovered that Madelin Rodriguez, 32, of Mounthope Place in the Bronx, had attempted to make a withdrawal of $4,500 from someone else's checking account using a fraudulent driver's license.
Police charged Rodriguez with third-degree identity theft and third-degree larceny. She posted her $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before Stamford Superior Court Aug. 19.
