Music on the Hill Rings in the Season

Join Music on the Hill's Festival Chorus and Jubilate Ringers for "Sounds of the Season" on Friday, Dec. 14, in Wilton.

Music on the Hill invites all for a festive concert of the Jubilate Ringers handbell choir and Festival Chorus. "Sounds of the Season" is Friday, December 14, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Wilton, 36 New Canaan Road.

The concert features the premiere of Artistic Director Ellen Dickinson's Stars over Snow: An English Christmas, with original music and an arrangement of traditional English carols for chorus and handbells. Ms. Dickinson conducts.

Also: familiar and lesser-known carols and songs, including Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Wassail Song;" Alice Parker's arrangement of the French carol "Il Est Né;" and a setting of Tennyson's "Ring Out, Wild Bells" by contemporary composer Linda Dowdell.

The audience will be invited to join in singing favorite carols with the majestic St. Matthew's organ. Artistic Director David H. Connell, organist.

"Sounds of the Season" is suitable for families and is free, with donations welcome ($20 suggested).
