UPDATE: Norwalk Bank Robbed Near Wilton Town Line

According to reports, the Fairfield County Bank at 26 Chestnut Hill Rd. in  Norwalk was robbed at 3:32 p.m on Tuesday.

Norwalk Police reported the area was secured shortly afterward and K-9 units from Norwalk, Westport and Connecticut State Police were used to track the flight of suspects around the bank's location just south of the Wilton Line.

Surveillance video revealed there were at least two suspects. The first entered the bank and passed a note to a teller implying that he had a gun, though no weapon was displayed. The second suspect allegedly served as a lookout. After obtaining an unspecified amount of cash, the suspects fled out of the rear of the shopping plaza onto Newton Ave. according to police.

The first suspect is described as a white male in his mid 20's, between 6'1 and 6'4 with a thin build. He was wearing a dark green long sleeve hooded sweatshirt, long white basketball-style shorts with blue and yellow trim along the bottom, low white sneakers, a dark t-shirt and a gray baseball hat with an Underarmor logo on the front. He also had sunglasses on and had a goatee that could be fake. He was carrying a black shoulder bag similar to a laptop case.

The second suspect is described as a white male, around six feet tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a dark blue "AERO" 87 hooded sweatshirt with a zipper in the front.

Other area police departments, including Wilton, were put on alert shortly after the robbery in the event that it was the first in a string. But, as yet, no other reports have materialized.
