Police Charge Wilton Man With DUI, Speeding in Porsche
The driver was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests to standard and refused chemical testing, police said.

WILTON, CT —Police arrested a Wilton man for speeding in his Porsche while under the influence of alcohol late Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 5 p.m., police pulled over a 1986 Porsche 944 for traveling 55 mph in a designated 30 mph zone near the intersection of Wolfpit and Belden Hill Roads.
When police instructed the driver, Robert Anthony Hartman, 59, of Nod Hill Road in Wilton, to turn right into the driveway of a business located at 240 Wolfpit Road, they say he instead "turned left into the traffic lane of Wolfpit Road, grinded gears, and then reversed into the business driveway.

"When asked why he couldn't follow simple instructions to turn right into the business driveway he responded, 'Quite honestly it's an old car,'" police wrote in their report.
During the investigation that followed, police say they detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Hartman's breath, and noted that "his speech was slurred, and his eyes appeared glassy and bloodshot." Further investigation of the car and Hartman's person revealed a bottle of wine two-thirds full and a paper coffee cup containing wine.
