Police Log: Risk of Injury to a Child and Hiding in the Woods

• Police were dispatched to a residence on 44 Own Home Avenue. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Gail Minnich, 59, of Wilton had struck her husband in the face after a verbal argument. The husband sustained a minor facial scratch and Minnich was charged with disorderly conduct and released on a PTA for a June 9 court date.

Wednesday, June 9

• Joseph Stupik, 54, of New Haven was stopped by a DMV inspector who was conducting truck inspections at the commuter lot at 177 Danbury Road. Stupik had an active arrest warrant out of West Haven for larceny in the third degree stemming from a 2006 incident. Stupik was taken into custody and held for West Haven police.

Friday, June 11

• Wilton police were requested to assist Stamford police in detaining Thomas Araujo, 43, of Wilton for a violation of a protective order. After arriving at his residence, Araujo led police in a foot pursuit into the woods. After a brief search, Araujo was located hiding in the woods and was arrested and detained for interfering with an officer. He was released to Stamford police on a PTA and has a June 21 court date.
• Harold T. Wendorff, 43, of Oxford, Conn. was processed on an arrest warrant as a result of a domestic incident from May 13. During the incident, Wendorff reportedly made repeated phone calls to an ex-wife who lives in Wilton. There was a restraining order in place preventing him from having any contact with his ex-wife at all. After hearing of the incident, a Wilton officer obtained a warrant for criminal violation of a standing criminal restraining order in harassment in the second degree. Wendorff turned himself in on June 11, was held on $5,000 bond and had a June 11 court date for charges of violation of a restraining order and harassment in the second degree.

Sunday, June 13

• Robert Cusumano, 54, of Darien was observed traveling in and out of his lane on Danbury Road. After being stopped by police, Cusumano failed three field sobriety tests and was brought to HQ and processed. He was given a court date on June 24 and released on a PTA after being charged with DUI and failure to drive in a proper lane.

Monday, June 14

• Barbara Sreckovic, 40, was traveling on Cider Mill Place en route to her residence. She drove off the left shoulder of the road and struck a parked car. Due to her intoxicated states, she was tested at the scene and later transported to police headquarters for processing. She was given a June 24 court date and was not injured in the accident.
• Police responded to a domestic dispute in progress on Sunset Pass. Upon arrival, Kevin Kerr, 43, of Wilton was located inside his residence apparently intoxicated. He was accused of twisting his wife's arm and stopping her from making a 911 call to police after the argument. Kerr was ultimately charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and risk of injury to a child. He was released on a PTA and had a June 14 court date.

Tuesday, June 15

• Marcoantonio Torres, 59, of Stamford was observed southbound on Route 7 drifting into the shoulder and over the center line. Mr. Torres failed field sobriety tests and was transported to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with DUI and failure to keep right and released on a PTA for a June 25 court date.
