Road Rage, DUI, Top Wilton Police Blotter For July 22-28

WILTON, CT — Police say a man threatened a motorist following a road rage incident in the area of 65 Danbury Road in Wilton on Friday.
The police investigation began following a 6:21 p.m. call from the motorist, who said he was followed from West Rocks Road in Norwalk to a parking lot in Wilton. Police identified the pursuer as Danny Morin, 47, of Norwalk.
Morin engaged in a verbal dispute with the complainant, exiting his vehicle and making threatening remarks with a baton in his hand, according to the police report.

Police charged Morin with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, second-degree threatening, and second-degree breach of peace. He was released on the same date after posting his $3,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 8.
On Saturday, around 9:27 p.m., police stopped a Dodge Dakota which they say was not maintaining its proper lane while traveling northbound on Danbury Road.

The Wilton Police Department identified the driver as Roger Valverde, 57, of West Branchville Road in Ridgefield.
Valverde appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and later admitted to drinking alcohol prior to getting behind the wheel, according to police.
The motorist failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Test and then submitted to chemical testing, which indicated blood alcohol concentration of 0.1407 and 0.1312 on consecutive tests. Connecticut residents 21 and older are considered to be legally intoxicated with a BAC of .08 or higher.
Police charged Valverde with DUI and failing to maintain his lane. He paid 7 percent of his $300 bond and is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 5.
