Teen Admits Role in 2008 Dirt Bike Death of Wilton Boy

The admission came as a result of a civil suit filed by the parents of Nick Parisot.

A teen reportedly has admitted that he was the person who strung a rope between two trees that caused the death of an 11-year-old Wilton boy as he rode his dirt bike in some woods seven years ago.

During a civil hearing in state Superior Court in Stamford on Friday, John Tully Knight, now 18, admitted that he strung up a clothesline between the trees before Nick Parisot rode his dirt bike through the woods, according to The Advocate. Parisot was killed when he ran into the rope on June 12, 2008 in the woods near Knight’s home.

Knight told Judge Terence Zemetis, “Yes. I admit that my conduct was responsible for the death of Nick Parisot,” according to The Advocate.

Parisot’s parents, Ricardo Parisot and Kate Throckmorton refused to settle their civil suit until Knight admitted his role in their son’s death, the Parisot’s attorney David Golub said. The civil trial was cancelled after Knight and his family agreed to making the confession, Golub told The Advocate.

Knight is serving three years probation following his guilty plea under the Alford Doctrine to a criminally negligent homicide charge. Zemetis has ordered the release of Knight’s plea and the Wilton Police investigation report into the incident, according to the newspaper report.
