Wilton, Danbury Robot Builders Compete in Ridgefield Saturday
Connecticut FIRST Tech Challenge is sponsoring the event.

A robotics qualifying event will take place Saturday, Nov. 21, at Ridgefield Academy.
The event is being sponsored by Connecticut FIRST Tech Challenge and is for students in grades seven through 12.
College scholarships can be earned through the challenge as well as the opportunity to compete at the state level competition at Greens Farms Academy, which will be held in February.

The challenge will begin at 10 a.m. and run through 4 p.m.
This year’s challenge will have contestants’ robots climbing a mountain and completing tasks along the way. Each match requires 30 seconds of autonomous performance and two minutes of remote-controlled performance.

Six judges will assess how well each robot is constructed and in what spirit the team operates.
Contestants in Saturday’s competition include students from Danbury and Wilton.
Ridgefield Academy is located at 223 West Mountain Rd. in Ridgefield.
