Wilton Field Hockey Players to Participate in Fundraiser for Ugandan School Children
Elisa Taylor-Yeremeeva has organized a field hockey tournament to raise funds for Pathfinder Hockey to benefit Ugandan school children.

Joel Barlow Junior Field Hockey player Elisa Taylor-Yeremeeva has organized a field hockey tournament on Sunday, September 28 from noon to 3pm at the Joel Barlow Stadium. Six 7th and 8th grade teams from Greenwich, Redding/Easton, Darien, Wilton and New Farifield will participate in a round-robin ‘Play Day’. In addition to the tournament, there will be items available for raffle, a bake sale, and tee-shirts signed by the players.
The tournament is a fundraiser for Pathfinder Hockey, a program which organizes and runs clinics and games for Ugandan school children. In the U.S. and abroad, Pathfinder approaches hockey as a means to build relationships that stretch beyond life’s circumstances with the hope of giving young players an opportunity to share in the joy of sports.

Since its founding in 2009, Pathfinder has conducted camps and clinics in the U.S., using the proceeds to support charities and sports missions in Uganda. With contributions from field hockey players and programs in the U.S., Pathfinder supplies used hockey equipment to clubs and ministries throughout Kampala, Uganda. Pathfinder partners with a number of universities, businesses and charities in the U.S. and Europe to collect supplies and funding, send teams to Uganda, and connect with local charities in Uganda, bringing sport development.

- Used hockey and sports equipment
- Lightly used or new athletic shoes
- Adult- and children’s-sized clothing that spectators may have to bring and support the Pathfinder programs.
Partners in the US include: Liberty University Field Hockey, University of Richmond Field Hockey, College of William & Mary Field Hockey, Wake Forest University Field Hockey, Slippery Rock University Field Hockey, and Bentley University Field Hockey.
