Wilton Library hosts its own version of “Throwback Thursdays” this summer with its fourteenth annual Summer Music & More Concert Series, on four consecutive Thursday nights, beginning July 10 through July 31, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The sounds emanating from the bands will have people reminiscing through the decades from the ’40s to the ’70s. Two groups are new to the venue and two groups are returning favorites. This year’s concerts are again made possible through generous funding from The Village Market; as in previous years, the wine for the events is being graciously donated by Michael Crystal.
The concert line-ups are as follows:
July 10 Steppin’ Out – This six-piece band, from northern CT and western MA, will kick off the season with favorites from the ’60s. The professional group has been together for more than fourteen years and has played extensively throughout the northeast region. With a female vocalist, bass, sax, drums, guitar and keyboards, the group plans to “get the party started.”

July 17 Yesteryear – Another new group to the concert series line-up, the five members of this doo wop group have performed on and off over the past 42 years, learning songs that were new in the ’50s, that they now fondly perform as “oldies.” The group performing at Wilton Library includes Paul Timpanelli (bass), Jim Petrino (2nd tenor and lead), Don Annicelle (1st tenor and lead), Carl Demore (1st tenor and lead) and George Kovachi (top tenor).
July 24 The Bernadettes – A definite crowd-pleaser for the Wilton Library audience, this group is back for a third time bringing their ’70s disco, Motown and R&B sounds. With Bryan Kearney and Sheila Fabrizio handling the lead vocals, concertgoers should get ready to be on their feet.

July 31 Echoes of Sinatra – Steve Kazlauskas returns with his tribute to Frank Sinatra and the Great American Songbook. An immediate favorite after last year’s first appearance, Steve’s music and stories evoke the golden era of the ’40s.
The concerts and the refreshments are free and are open to the public. The performances take place rain or shine. During beautiful summer evenings, the sliding glass doors of the Brubeck Room remain open; should the weather turn inclement, the doors can easily be closed and the concerts continue.
