UPDATED INFO: Wilton Police Activate 'Cooling Centers'

WILTON, CT -- Citing "oppressive heat and humidity" forecast for the area, the Wilton police have activated the United Way 2-1-1 system for local cooling centers.

They are advising residents to dial 2-1-1 if they or someone they know is in need of cooling off. A representative from United Way will provide information on the nearest cooling center.

NEW: Room 30 at Comstock Community Center (180 School Road) has been designated as a cooling location.

Alternatively, consult the websites for the Comstock Community Center and Wilton Library for their posted hours of operation and may be the closest option for a cooling location.
