Wilton Police Arrest Log For July 24-30

WILTON, CT — An identity theft, criminal impersonation and stolen catalytic converters were at the top of the Wilton Police blotter last week.

Anthony Alicea, 34, of Kelsey Street in New Britain, was arrested at the Wilton Police Department at around 6:45 a.m. on July 27. Police had issued an arrest warrant for Alicea for allegedly taking catalytic converters off of vehicles in the town.

Police charged Alicea with third-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief. He was unable to post his $50,000 bail, and was taken to Stamford Superior Court for arraignment the same day.

George Nana Poku, 24, of Pope Street in Fairfield, turned himself in at Wilton Police HQ on July 26 shortly before 10:30 a.m. The arrest came following a 7-month-long financial crimes investigation.

Police charged Poku with second-degree identity theft, third-degree larceny and criminal impersonation. He posted 10 percent of his $10,000 court set bond and was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 7.

Jataisha P. Jenkins, 32, of Brooklyn, NY, turned herself in to Wilton police the afternoon of July 26. Her arrest stemmed from a five-month-long investigation into a check that was stolen out of Wilton and fraudulently altered and deposited into Jenkins' account, according to a report from the Wilton PD.

Police charged Jenkins with second-degree larceny and held on a $100,000 bond. She was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 27.
