Wilton Police Blotter: Collisions, A Rollover & An Old Shoplifting
A two-car collision, a one-car/one-utility pole collision, and a year-old shoplifting incident are on the Wilton PD's blotter last week.
WILTON, CT — A two-car collision, a one-car/one-utility pole collision, and a year-old shoplifting incident were all on the Wilton Police Department's blotter this past week.
Following an investigation, the Wilton Police Department arrested Nasif Muhammad, 52, by warrant at Stamford Superior Court for a shoplifting incident that occurred at a local grocery store on Aug. 9, 2021.
The investigation found that Muhammad, who is currently incarcerated, was part of an organized retail theft group that was active throughout Connecticut, according to police.

James Hill, 44, a co-conspirator of Muhammad's, was previously arrested for his involvement in last August's shoplifting incident. At that time, laundry detergent, paper products, and seafood were stolen for an approximate loss of $836.76, police said.
On August 6, at approximately 9:14 p.m., Wilton Police responded to a report of a two-car accident with injuries, in front of the Zion Hill Church, at 470 Danbury Road.

First responders discovered that both cars, a Honda HRV and a Tesla Model Y, had sustained heavy front end damage.
Police say the Honda driver was making a left turn, onto Danbury Road and failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic, colliding with the Tesla moving north.
A Wilton Emergency Medical Services crew drove the Honda driver to Norwalk Hospital for evaluation. She was issued an infraction and charged with failure to grant right of way, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
On Aug. 13, a Stamford woman driving northbound on Hurlbutt Street failed to maintain her proper lane and ran off the right side of the road, according to police.
The KIA 2021 Telluride Six struck a Connecticut Light & Power pole and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof. Two juveniles were in the back of the car at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported.
Police issued the driver a written warning for failing to maintain her proper lane.
