Wilton Police Blotter For Dec. 19-25
This public information from the Wilton Police Department is accurate as of Dec. 26, 2022. Items reflect charges filed, not convictions.
WILTON, CT — A head-on collision, DUI, and a forgery were at the top of the Wilton Police Department's blotter last week.
At around 2:36 p.m. on Thursday, the Wilton Police Department received a report of a "possible intoxicated" woman at Cider Mill School, on School Road. The officers were advised that the woman was seen entering a 2019 Nissan Sentra and driving out of the parking lot.
Once they arrived, police say they observed Jolene Matthews, 46, of West Lane in Ridgefield, "quickly turn back into the parking lot" and attempt to exit the car.

Police say they observed "multiple empty alcohol containers" inside the car, and Matthews appeared to be "under the influence of alcohol or drugs."
Matthews failed the standardized field sobriety tests, and refused to submit to chemical testing, so police charged her with DUI and driving without a license, according to their report. She was released after posting a $250 bond, and scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Jan.5.

On Tuesday, a 2012 Honda Pilot traveling east on School Road was hit head-on by a 2017 Hyundai moving in the opposite direction and crossing the yellow line, shortly before 1:30 in the afternoon.
The Honda driver was taken to Norwalk Hospital with suspected minor injuries, according to police.
The juvenile driver of the Hyundai "admitted he was changing his music while driving but claimed he never left his lane," and accused the Honda driver of crossing the line and causing the crash, Officer Mark Canepari wrote in his report.
The juvenile's statement was not supported by video footage of the accident obtained from Comstock Community Center security cameras, which showed the Hyundai "crossing nearly entirely into the opposing lane just prior to impact."
Police cited the juvenile driver for failure to drive right on a curve, and distracted driving.
Also on Tuesday, Wilton police travelled to Bridgeport Superior Court where they took into custody Robert Nartowicz, 40, of Weber Street in Stratford.
Nartowicz was taken back to Wilton Police Headquarters, where he was charged with second-degree forgery and tampering with evidence. He was held on a $25,000 bond, and scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court the next day.
