Wilton Police Nab Bronx Man For ID Theft

Following an investigation, Wilton police say a Bronx man cashed in $4,000 worth of a Wilton resident's checks.

WILTON, CT — A Bronx man is facing charges after police say he stole checks from the mail in Wilton in September 2022.

Wilton police say they identified Boris Vivies, 35, as the man who stole and cashed in $4,000 worth of checks following an extensive investigation.

Vivies was detained by New York Port Authority police on May 2, and transferred to Rikers Island. Five days later, he was extradited back to Connecticut and charged with second degree identity theft and third degree attempt to commit larceny. Vivies was held at Wilton Police Headquarters in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
