Wilton Police Nab Danbury Motorists For Drugs, DUI, Speeding

WILTON, CT — Three people were charged following two separate traffic stops in WIlton laste week.
At 4:15 p.m. on June 27, Wilton police officers stopped an unregistered and uninsured 2006 Ford E450 box truck in the area of Danbury Road and Ridgefield Road.
Upon investigation, police say they discovered the driver, Claiton Oliveira, 38, Pahquioque Avenue in Danbury, was in possession of drug paraphernalia four vials they suspected contained anabolic steroids.

Oliveira's passenger, Christina Rhynhart, 36, of Fairfield Avenue in Waterbury, initially gave them a false identity, but was quickly found out, according to police. A search of her belongings revealed crack cocaine and a substance police believed to be heroin, in addition to drug paraphernalia.
Police charged Oliveira with second-offense possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia, driving without minimum insurance, driving without registration, making an improper turn, and failure to wear a safety belt.

Police charged Rhynhart with second-offense possession of a controlled substance, use of drug paraphernalia, third-degree identity theft, and interfering with an officer.
After paying 7 percent of his $1,000 bond, Oliveira was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 10. Rhynhart was unable to make her bond, and was scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court the next day.
At around 1:42 the morning of June 26, Wilton police stopped a Nissan GT-R they say was speeding northbound on Danbury Road.
After an investigation, police say the driver, Kevin Persaud, 32, of Long Ridge Road in Danbury, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and later admitted to drinking alcohol prior to driving.
After failing to pass the standard field sobriety tests, Persaud refused to submit to chemical testing, according to police.
Police charged Persaud with speeding and DUI, and released after paying 7 percent of his $300 bond. He is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on July 8.
