Wilton's Drummond, Conner Named Girls Lacrosse All-Americans

Drummond and Conner will play their college lacrosse at Dartmouth and New Hampshire, respectively.

The Connecticut Girls High School All-American Lacrosse Team, sponsored by USA Lacrosse, has a distinctly local flavor.

The team, which was recently announced, is dotted with six players from FCIAC schools, including two from Wilton -- midfielder Amy Drummond and defenseman Brittany Conner.

The other FCIAC standouts selected to the 15-player squad are Anjalie Christie and Kacie Pippit of reigning Division I state champion New Canaan, along with Darien's Cali Ceglarski and Greenwich's Sarah Kramer.

Drummond, who will play her college lacrosse at Dartmouth, recorded 46 goals before sufferining a torn anterior cruciate ligament against Greenwich on May 4. She still finished her career ranked second in school history among midfielders with 156 goals. Drummond also registered 221 points at Wilton.

Conner, who also missed time during the 2010 with a concussion, is headed to the University of New Hampshire in the fall and will play lacrosse for the Wildcats next spring.

Despite the two injuries, Wilton defeated Greenwich in the FCIAC championship game to win its second league title in three years.
