ZU ZAZZ Street Jazz at G & B Sepember 15

Get ready: the Zu Zazz String Orkestra performance of vintage music, Saturday, September 15, 7:30 pm at G & B. Cabaret seating. BYOB.

Good time tunes, ironic lyrics, tight harmony, and forgotten musical history --- get ready for the Zu Zazz String Orkestra on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the G &B Cultural Center, from 7:30 to 9 pm, 49 New Street, Wilton, Connecticut, 06897, www.gandbculturalcenter.org, 203-544-0056.

Expect to be dancing and laughing at the concert. The Zu Zazz String Orkestra playbill of eclectic hits is
sure to please every listener in the house, with a surprising mix of zany tunes, played on a collection of
vintage acoustic instruments. The band plays string-band interpretations of American music from the
first three decades of popular recordings. Listen to abandoned and regional styles -- Hawaiian, cow-jazz,
old-timey, vaudeville, old-movie, tent-revival, blues, jump, bluegrass, cowboy, swing, traditional-jazz,
and novelty numbers with songs by such musical greats as Charlie Poole, Mae West, J.P. Mainer, Helen
Hume, Jimmie Rodgers, Victoria Spivey, Irving Berlin and W.C Handy.

The Connecticut-based band is the brainchild of Dan Santhouse (steel guitar, dobro & vocals) and Renee
Santhouse (violin & vocals), husband and wife team residing in Wilton, who collect unique American
roots songs and string jazz. They are joined by area musicians Gary Wikfors, (mandolin, tenor banjo,
Hawaiian slide guitar), from Bethany; Frank Pergola (guitar, mandolin), from Ansonia; and Louis Audette
(double bass), from New Haven.
