Sage Park Students Participate in National School Lunch Week
Windsor Public Schools Registered Dietitian, Heidi Karner, visits Sage Park Middle School to encourage students to eat healthy
As part of National School Lunch Week (October 15-19, 2018), the Windsor Public Schools Registered Dietitian, Heidi Karner, visited Sage Park Middle School last week to talk to the students about healthy eating habits. Seventh graders spun the wheel and answered questions about school meals and the five components of "My Plate."
The 2018 NSLW theme is “School Lunch: Lots 2 Love,” and it’s about showing off the secrets to school lunch success in different schools and districts. The National School Lunch Program serves more than 30 million children every school day. President Kennedy created NSLW in 1962 to help promote healthy eating and to recognize the efforts of school cafeteria workers.
