Smart Is Cool Concert for Success on October 18, 2015 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Windsor Public Library

Celebrate Smart Is Cool Day on October 22, 2015. What you will do on October 22 to celebrate Smart Is Cool Day!

Smart Is Cool is a grassroots organization that has been in existence for five years. Its membership consists of a variety of teachers, students, visual artists, local community activists and writers. Our vision is to celebrate the wide range of abilities of young people and increase our appreciation for their unique areas of intelligence. We are promoting the new definition of smart based on Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences. You can find us on his webpage: http://multipleintelligencesoasis.org/blog/page/2/

Our mission is to host events that showcase the diverse areas of intelligence in young people and to support them in utilizing and fostering their unique intelligence to create and implement projects/programs whose purpose is to contribute to their communities. Our encouragement is directed toward students who have ideas to make a significant contribution to the world and whose means may be limited.

Chase’s Calendar of Events designates October 22, 2015 as Smart Is Cool Day!

Our hope is that this day will be observed nationwide and that a new “smart” will be realized in a world that is fraught with testing and a focus on a narrow band of knowledge. We are eager to expand the awareness of what a quality education is by empowering one student at a time. Celebrate your unique intelligence and contribute to your community.

Each year in celebration of October 22, we promote a Concert for Success. This year’s event will take place at the Windsor Public Library, 323 Broad Street, on October 18th from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. It is free and open to the public. Prepare to be amazed by the very smart and cool youth who will share how they are making a difference. Science, music, poetry and art are just a few areas where you will see young people making significant contributions. Join us on the 18th and let us know what you will do on October 22 to celebrate Smart Is Cool Day!
