Suspected Car Burglars Ram Police Cruiser While Fleeing: Windsor Locks Police
A car carrying six suspected car burglars fled the scene and police are investigating several vehicles break-ins that occurred overnight.

A Windsor Locks police cruiser was struck multiple times by a car that was carrying suspected car burglars early Monday morning.
NBC Connecticut reports a Greenfield Drive resident called police around 3:30 a.m., saying that as many as six people were going through his car outside of his house.
Responding officers saw a red Mazda CX9 with six people in it and police pulled in front of the vehicle, which then struck the cruiser and fled the scene, according to NBC Connecticut.

Police followed the vehicle to a condominium complex parking lot where officers again tried to block the Mazda but the operator backed the car into the cruiser multiple times, according to NBC.
Fox 61 reports the driver of the Mazda then drove through several yards and onto Old County Road.

Police called off the search but the investigation continues.
The officer wasn’t injured in the incident but the cruiser sustained moderate damage.
Police also say that at least six residents have reported that their vehicles were broken into in the Greenfield Drive, Autumn Drive and George Road area.
