
Lorraine “Sis” (Tanguay) Prebit, 88, of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of 51 years to the late James Prebit, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
Born in Branford on July 22, 1928; daughter of the late Aime and Caroline (Boehler) Tanguay. Sis was a graduate of Enfield High and Asnuntuck Community College. She was a talented floral designer and artist as well as a true blue UConn women’s basketball fan.
She leaves her loving family; four children, David Prebit of Windsor Locks, Glenn Prebit and his wife Lisa of Windsor Locks, Gail LaTorra and her husband David of Enfield, and Thomas Prebit and his wife Jane of Acworth, GA; extremely proud grandmother to Katelyn and Chris LaTorra, Max and Angela Prebit, Evan and Ava Prebit; brother, Raymond Tanguay and his wife Barbara of Suffield, sister, Carolyn Richards of Enfield, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Tanguay of Enfield and many nieces and nephews. She leaves us to join the round dance group upstairs. Sis was predeceased by her husband James Prebit and a brother Robert Tanguay.

The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to the staff at Kimberly Hall North for the dedicated and compassionate care they gave to Sis the past few years.
Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will gather on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring Street, Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Sis’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Special Olympics of Connecticut.
