8 Felony Convictions; 27 Prior Arrests: Middlebury Murder Suspect Has Criminal Past
After a Middlebury man was found deceased in his driveway, police arrested Steven Brockett on a murder charge.

When Middlebury Police responded to a Nov. 3 call on Tower Road, they found a man on his driveway, deceased in a pool of blood.
The death was ruled suspicious and later ruled a homicide. Police identified the man as Isidore Ellin, 79, of 41 Tower Rd. They said he died from blunt force trauma to the head.
On Nov. 4, an arrest was made in connection with the case. He was issued a Nov. 5 court date, with the next Waterbury Superior Court date set for Dec. 3.

Waterbury resident Steven Brockett, of 205 S. Leonard St., #2S, Waterbury, was arrested on the following charges:
- Murder
- Robbery in the first degree
- Assault of an elderly person in the first degree
According to WFSB, this is not the first time Brockett was arrested. In total, he was eight felony convictions and has been arrested 27 times.
