Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation Invites Community to Lace Up for Ag Literacy (morningagclips.com) — Lewes residents are invited to the Lace Up for Ag Literacy 5K Run/Walk at Hopkins Farm Creamery on October 10, supporting youth agriculture education across Delaware. The family-friendly race features a scenic farm course, on-site Mobile Ag Lab, and access to the Hopkins Farm Fall Festival with breakfast, cider, and seasonal activities after you cross the finish line.
   

2. Outside investigation clears Lewes deputy mayor of harassment allegations (delawarepublic.org) — Lewes residents are learning that Deputy Mayor Khalil Saliba has been cleared of harassment and intimidation allegations after an outside investigation found his conduct did not meet the legal threshold for harassment, though it may have violated anti-bullying rules. City leaders, including Saliba and top administrators, will now undergo management and leadership training to address workplace conflict and improve how staff and officials work together.
   

3. DeVries Monument reveals new renovations at rededication ceremony (wboc.com) — Lewes' historic DeVries Monument, marking the 1631 Zwaanendael Settlement, has just been rededicated after safety, accessibility, and landscaping upgrades. Local leaders say the refreshed site better tells the town's story, honors Indigenous peoples, and will anchor celebrations leading up to the settlement's 400th anniversary in 2031.
   

4. Mark A. Trotter, talented musician (capegazette.com) — Family and friends around Lewes are mourning 75-year-old musician Mark A. Trotter, who passed away Sept. 7 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. The longtime local performer, boat lover, and easygoing companion to his dog Sophie is remembered for his music, gentle spirit, and close ties to relatives in Milford, Georgetown, Lewes, and beyond; services and burial will be private.
