Delaware's General Firearms Deer Hunting Season To Open 10-Day Run Friday, Nov. 13 (wgmd.com) — Hunters harvesting deer in Delaware’s chronic wasting disease management zone must bring them for sampling during the Nov. 13–22 general firearms season. Gumboro Community Center, at 36849 Millsboro Highway, is one of three check stations open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. It replaces the previously announced Gumboro station.
   

2. Six local golfers compete in U.S. Kids girls' golf invitational (coastalpoint.com) — Millsboro golfer Ellie Walls finished second in the 13-and-over bracket at the U.S. Kids girls’ golf invitational in Ocean View. The Indian River High School junior was one of three Millsboro players competing at Bear Trap Dunes Oct. 23–25, where the field included golfers from across the country and abroad.
   

3. Library survey asks about services, funding (coastalpoint.com) — Sussex County residents have until late November to weigh in on library services and whether they support a property tax increase for libraries. The study includes Millsboro's independently governed library, which relies partly on fundraising, and will produce funding and service recommendations by February 2027.
   

4. VFW seeking new van to transport Honor Guard, members (coastalpoint.com) — An Ocean View VFW post whose Honor Guard attends funerals at the Delaware Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro is seeking donations for a replacement van. Post leaders say their 24-year-old vehicle is unreliable and lacks needed safety features, and they hope to replace it by year's end.
