1 Person Was Hospitalized After Being Rescued From Burning Row House In Mount Pleasant

A person rescued from a burning Mount Pleasant row house was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon.

WASHINGTON, DC — One person was hospitalized after being rescued from a two-alarm fire Tuesday afternoon in the Mount Pleasant area, according to reports.

D.C. Fire & EMS units responded around before 4:30 p.m. for the report of a fire in a three-story row house in the 1500 block of Park Road, Northwest, according to posts on the department's official Twitter account.

Once fire units arrived at the burning row house, a second alarm was called, which brought approximately 100 personnel and 20 pieces of equipment to the scene.

Firefighters worked to combat the fire, which was located in the top floor and attic of the row house. They also helped to extricate an occupant, who was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

D.C. Fire & EMS reported at 5:05 p.m. that the fire had not extended to adjacent row houses.
