13-Year-Old, Two Other DC Teens Charged In Four Carjackings

The Metropolitan Police Department arrested three teenagers in connection with four separate armed carjackings across the District.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Metropolitan Police Department arrested three teenagers in connection with four separate armed carjackings across the District of Columbia, the department said Sunday.

A 13-year-old boy from Southeast D.C. was charged Saturday, July 31 with armed carjacking in connection with an incident that occurred at 10 p.m. on July 26 in the 220 block of Minnesota Avenue in Southeast D.C.

A 15-year-old boy from Northeast D.C. was charged Saturday, July 31 with armed carjacking in connection with an incident that occurred on July 15 at about 12:05 a.m. in the 300 block of Tingey Street, Southeast.

The same 15-year-old was charged with another armed carjacking that occurred on July 21 at about 2 a.m. in the 1400 block of Ridge Place, Southeast.

On June 5, the same 15-year-old also was charged with two cases of unauthorized use of a vehicle, one that occurred at 11 p.m. on June 6 in the 3500 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast. The other incident occurred on July 17 at about 1:23 a.m. in the 4200 block of East Capitol, Northeast.

Also on Saturday, July 31, a 17-year-old boy was charged with armed carjacking in connection with an incident that occurred on July 25 at 3:18 a.m. in the 2600 block of Sheridan Road, Southeast. The same 17-year-old also was charged with an armed robbery that occurred on July 25 at 4:30 a.m. in the same block of Sheridan Road.
