2 Unrelated Fatal Shootings Within 24 Hours Investigated By DC Police

Treyvon Green of Southeast​ and David Boyd of Northwest​ both died from gunshot wounds they received within 24 hours of each other in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide police are investing two unrelated fatal shootings that took place Thursday and Friday mornings, according to a police release.

In the first case, police found 33-year-old Treyvon Green of Southeast, suffering gunshot wounds, in the 2300 block of Green Street, Southeast. They'd been called to the area around 9:26 a.m., on Thursday, for the report of a shooting.

D.C. Fire & EMS determined that Green had died from his wounds and later transported his body to the Office of the Chief Examiner.

In the second case, 48-year-old David Boyd of Northwest was found suffering from a gunshot wound, around 12:05 a.m., in the 5000 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, according to police. Boyd was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but he died from his injury.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
