WASHINGTON, DC — Anthony Allen, 25, of Washington, D.C. was sentenced in federal court Monday to 20 years in prison for his role in the 2018 fatal shooting of 14-year-old Steven Slaughter.

Slaughter was fatally shot around 7 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2018, after leaving a 7-Eleven on Good Hope Road in Southeast D.C. with two teenage friends.

A few minutes before, Allen was driving a stolen Mercedes Benz with two others, according to court documents. The group was looking for people to rob. Seeing Slaughter and his friends, Allen followed the teenagers to the 1700 Block of Minnesota Avenue Southeast and parked the car so that it was facing the teenagers.
