A new art gallery in Adams Morgan, The Silva Gallery x Latela Curatorial, is hosting a launch reception for a Women in the Arts exhibition.

WASHINGTON, DC — A new art gallery in Adams Morgan, The Silva Gallery x Latela Curatorial, is hosting a launch reception on Oct. 14 for a Women in the Arts exhibition.

The reception, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., will include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, live music and a look at the “Invocations” exhibition, featuring work by artists Kate Fitzpatrick, Rose Jaffe, Jackie Milad, Kate Sable, Lee Nowell-Wilson and Nastassja Swift.

The launch event marks Latela Curatorial’s second annual Women in the Arts exhibition series and the continuation of its campaign to elevate women artists. “Invocations” is the first of six Women in the Arts exhibitions opening in D.C. this fall.

The Silva Gallery x Latela Curatorial is the latest addition to the Adams Morgan art scene after it held its first exhibit, "Moments of Grace," in September. Located in The Silva, a new 172-unit apartment building, the gallery is one of the building’s many amenities and is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 5 p.m.

During the Oct. 14 event, guests will have the opportunity to explore the building.

The Silva is at 1630 Columbia Road NW. Rideshare or public transportation is encouraged, as parking is not available on-site.

Guests can purchase a single $25 ticket or two tickets for $40. Proof of a COVID-19 vaccination is required. No formal dress code is required.
