Anacostia Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured On Thursday Night: Police

WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of 41-year-old David Christian Spencer Jr. of Southeast, according to a police release. Spencer was one of three men who were shot Thursday night in Anacostia.

Officers found Spencer and two other men, all of whom were suffering from gunshot wounds, after responding around 9:26 p.m., for the report of a shooting in the 1500 block of V Street, Southeast, according to police.

D.C. Fire and EMS determined that Spencer had died from his injuries. The two other victims were suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. One of them was taken to the hospital for treatment. Spencer's body was later taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
