Civil Rights icon and Georgia congressman John Lewis will lie in state Monday and Tuesday at the U.S. Capitol Building.

WASHINGTON, DC — Rep. John Lewis will lie in state Monday and Tuesday at U.S. Capitol Building in order to allow for a public viewing of the civil rights icon who died on July 17.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the U.S. Capitol Police are asking the public to participate in viewing the event virtually. For those coming to the U.S. Capitol, Lewis will lie in state at the top of the East Front Steps, so that visitors may view him outdoors.
Those attending the viewing in person must follow CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the disease associated with the new coronavirus. Social distancing will be enforced and all attendees must wear a face mask.
