DC Voters Go To Polls Tuesday For Primary; Results
District residents are headed to the polls Tuesday, but they won't be going to their regular precincts due to the coronavirus pandemic.
WASHINGTON, DC — Voters looking to head to the polls Tuesday to vote in the June 2 primary need to remember that their precinct is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, today is the last day for District voters to visit one of the 22 early voting centers.
The D.C. Board of Elections made the decision to in April to close the city's 144 voting precincts to stem the spread of COVID-19, the illness associated with the new coronavirus. The Board encourages voters to vote by mail or visit one of the 22 early voting centers, which will remain open today until 8 p.m.
Mayor Muriel Bowser confirmed during a Tuesday morning press briefing that even though there will be a curfew in effect from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, District residents will be able to vote until 8 p.m. Tuesday and not be in violation of the curfew.

While it's too late to request a mail-in ballot, voters who already requested a ballot must mail that ballot Tuesday in order to ensure that it receives a June 2 postmark and reaches the BOE within seven days after the election in order for their vote to count.
