Donald Trump Posts Fake Abraham Lincoln Quote
Whoops. As he assails the press for "fake news," Trump just posted a totally fabricated Lincoln quote on Instagram.

WASHINGTON, DC — President Trump won the election in large part because he was eager to attack the press for reporting "fake news," but The Donald just posted something a bit embarrassing himself: a totally fabricated quote by Abraham Lincoln.
Trump spends much of his time posting to Twitter, his favorite social media platform, but every now and then he hops on Instagram to post something.
On Sunday, he put up a supposed Lincoln quote to celebrate the former president's birthday: "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

It's hard to tell where this quote came from, but it almost certainly didn't come from Lincoln. The Washington Post suggests that it may have come from some 1940s ad copy.
People quickly flooded Twitter to mock the gaffe, creating their own fake Lincoln tweets, including the following Internet favorite:

Ironically, his previous Instagram post is a text graphic criticizing CNN over "fake news."
