Murder Charge Filed In Garfield Heights Fatal Stabbing: Updated

D.C. police charged a suspect with second degree murder while armed in the fatal stabbing of 22-year-old Antonio Jones on Sunday night.

Updated (May 10, 2:30 p.m.): This story was updated with information about the arrest of a suspect in the death of Antonio Jones on Sunday night.

WASHINGTON, DC — On Monday, D.C. homicide detectives charged 35-year-old Marcel Jackson of no fixed address with second degree murder while armed in connection with the death Sunday night of 22-year-old Antonio Jones.

Jones was suffering from apparent puncture and laceration wounds when police found him in the 2800 block of Hartford Street, Southeast. They'd been called to the area around 11:25 p.m., for the report of a man down, according to the release.

D.C. Fire and EMS took Jones to a nearby hospital for treatment, but he later died from his injuries.

MPD is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who supplies information that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for a homicide in the District.
