WASHINGTON, DC — An online fundraiser has been set up for the family of a 5-year-girl who was killed in an accident while riding her bicycle on Monday in D.C.
All the money raised in the GoFundMe campaign will go to the family to help pay for the girl's funeral and other family expenses needed in the aftermath of her death.
The girl, Allison Hart, was struck and killed by a van at an intersection in the Brookland area of Northeast D.C. The city's Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after all life-saving efforts failed, Allison was pronounced dead.

As the driver pulled off from the stop sign, the van struck Allison. The driver immediately came to a stop and remained on the scene, the D.C. police said.
“We know in the days ahead there will be expenses such as funeral costs and life expenses that no one could have foreseen or planned for,” the GoFundMe organizers said. “All funds will go directly to Allie's parents to take care of those expenses and if there are any remaining funds those will be directed by Allie's parents toward a memorial for her.”
