Homicide Suspect Returned To DC Following Capture In Arizona: Police
D.C. homicide detectives charged a man wanted for killing 38-year-old Ramon Gomez-Yanez of Northwest on March 23.

WASHINGTON, DC — A man wanted in connection with the blunt force trauma death of 38-year-old Ramon Gomez-Yanez of Northwest was charged with second degree murder on Tuesday, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.
Alvin Cruz-Garcia, 24, of no fixed address was returned Tuesday to the District after being apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol officers in Douglas, Arizona on May 13. Upon his arrival on Tuesday, he was charged by D.C. homicide detectives.
On March 23, police found Gomez-Yanez unconscious and unresponsive in the 1500 block of Ogden Street, Northwest. They'd been called to the area around 8:50 p.m., for the report of an unconscious person.

Emergency medical personnel examined Gomez-Yanez and confirmed that he had died.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later performed an autopsy and determined that Gomez-Yanez had died from blunt force trauma and that his death was considered a homicide.
