Swastikas Found At Union Station, 1 Arrest Made: DC Police
D.C. police arrested a man on Friday after swastikas were found spray-painted at Union Station earlier in the day, police said Saturday.
WASHINGTON, DC — D.C. police arrested a man on Friday after swastikas were found spray-painted at Union Station earlier in the day, the Metropolitan Police Department said Saturday.
Geraldo Pando, 34, of no fixed address, was arrested Friday and charged with display of certain emblems and defacing private/public property, police said.
Early Friday morning, swastikas were found spray-painted on the pillars and building in the Unit block of Massachusetts Avenue NE, police said. Detectives from the MPD's First District and Amtrak Police investigated the spray-painting of the swastikas.

The police said they also linked the suspect to spray-painted graffiti found on buildings in the 900 block of 5th Street NW; the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW; and the 400 block of L Street NW
“The Metropolitan Police Department and the Amtrak Police are investigating the offense in the Unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast, as potentially being motivated in whole or in part by hate or bias,” DC police said.

Along with Amtrak Police, the MPD worked with the U.S. Capitol Police on the case.
