US Capitol Police Charge MD Man With Driving Stolen Vehicle, Gun Possession
The man, who had a warrant for his arrest in Maryland, had a gun, which was loaded with a large capacity magazine, the Capitol Police said.

WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. Capitol Police arrested a man accused of driving a stolen vehicle near the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday afternoon, the police department said Wednesday.
The man, who had a warrant out for his arrest in Prince George’s County, Maryland, had a gun, which was loaded with a large capacity magazine, according to the police.
At about 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, officers spotted the vehicle driving eastbound near Independence Avenue, SE, and 3rd Street, SE. The officers pulled the vehicle over along the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, SE.

During the traffic stop, the man admitted he had a gun, which was found between the driver’s seat and the center console, the police said. The gun was a Polymer 80 “Ghost Gun” 9mm, which had an ammunition feeding device with 13 rounds of ammunition, according to the police.
Ghost guns are homemade, with a barrel, trigger and slide attached to a polymer frame — with no serial number, so police cannot track them when they are discovered after a crime.

The officers ran a search of the man, identified as Trevon Nibblins, 20, of Suitland, Maryland, and found he had a warrant out for his arrest in Maryland.
Nibblins is facing charges for felony unauthorized use of a vehicle, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of unregistered ammunition, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, no valid permit and fugitive from justice, the Capitol Police said.
