MD Man Pleads Guilty To Fatally Shooting Elias Flores, 48, At A DC Construction Site
A Maryland man admitted in federal court to riding a bicycle up to a D.C. construction site and shooting 48-year-old Elias Flores in 2020.
WASHINGTON, DC — A Maryland man pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to second-degree murder while armed in the 2020 fatal shooting of 48-year-old Elias Flores of Washington, D.C.
Police found Flores unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound to the head around 1:40 p.m., on Nov. 18, 2020. After being taken to the hospital, Flores later died from his injuries. Flores had been working at a home under construction in the 1600 block of Olive Street, Northeast.
George Miller, 27, of Capitol Heights, Maryland admitted in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on Monday that he had ridden a bicycle up to the home where Flores was working. He pointed a gun at Flores, before taking some property from him. He then shot Flores once in the head and left the area, according to court documents.

Miller, who has been in custody since he was arrested on Dec. 9, 2020, is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Robert Okun on June 28.
