WASHINGTON, DC — A teenage boy died Sunday and three other people were wounded, including a police officer, after a shooting near a street concert in northwest Washington, DC, police said.

Metropolitan Police Chief Robert J. Contee III told reporters that several hundred people were gathered to listen to music playing from a truck in the 1400 block of U Street.

After two unspecified "incidents" people started to scatter and police shut the concert down, Contee said. Several people hurt their legs or ankles in the scramble to leave, Contee said. First responders helped these people, he said, and one emergency responder took an illegal firearm from one of the injured.
