1 Killed, 4 Injured In Fountain Electrocution At FL Shopping Mall
Three children were among those injured due to possible electric shock while they were in a fountain at a Jupiter shopping mall.
JUPITER, FL — A person died and multiple others were injured Sunday when they were electrocuted in a fountain at a Florida shopping mall, according to authorities.
Jupiter police and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue were called to Harbourside Place in Jupiter around 3:40 p.m. after receiving a report of a possible drowning, authorities said. According to fire officials, a caller said they saw a child in a fountain that appeared to be in distress.
When first responders arrived, authorities said they found multiple people in need of medical attention. Fire officials said a possible electric shock injured the group while they were in the fountain.

In all, eight people were assessed or treated after the incident, fire officials said.
According to Jupiter police, three children are recovering after they were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Two adults were taken to Jupiter Medical Center, police said. While one was treated and released, the second adult died at the hospital, according to authorities.
The person's name has not been released.
Florida Power & Light shut off power to the area as police and firefighters worked to determine what happened, authorities said.
The incident remains under investigation.
