11-Year-Old Calls In Bomb Threat To FL Elementary School: Reports

PENSACOLA, FL — Authorities are questioning an 11-year-old after police said the child called in a bomb threat to a Pensacola elementary school Thursday, according to multiple reports.

Pensacola police were called to N.B. Cook Elementary School after the call was placed around 9:15 a.m., WEAR-TV reported. Police evacuated staff and students as a precaution and cleared the threat about 45 minutes later, according to WEAR.

Police told WEAR an 11-year-old child is being questioned in connection with the threat, according to WEAR.

In a statement provided to the Pensacola News Journal, a school spokesperson declined to comment.

"However, I can say ECPS takes seriously the safety and security of our schools, and any disruption of this nature has the potential to include severe consequences," Communications Coordinator Cody Strother told the newspaper.
