PONCE INLET, FL — Two people were bitten by a shark in separate attacks at a Volusia County beach over Labor Day weekend, according to multiple reports citing safety officials.

Volusia County Beach Safety Capt. A.J. Miller told the Daytona Beach News-Journal that a 37-year-old Apopka woman was playing in waist-deep water at 4935 S. The Beach in Ponce Inlet when a shark bit her right food. Miller wrote.
