Wiseman's arrest came a week after a gunman opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania, killing a person in the crowd and injuring the former president and two spectators. The shooter — identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks — was killed by snipers guarding the rally.

Authorities hunting for a motive for the July 13 assassination attempt on Trump are investigating whether gunman Crooks might have been planning a mass shooting.

Meanwhile, mourning continued for the former fire chief killed in the attack. A private funeral was held Friday morning for 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, the Buffalo Township firefighter who died attempting to shield his family from gunfire at a Trump rally in Butler.

On Thursday, hundreds of people attended his visitation in Freeport and Trump paid tribute to him at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Jupiter police worked with the U.S. Secret Service and the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office to take Wiseman into custody, police said.
